Race Against Time to Save Lives by Saving Limbs

Singapore Diabetic Foot Centre (SDFC) is a specialised unit focused on Podiatric methods to successfully treat and rapidly heal diabetic foot wounds, as well as maintaining optimal foot health for low-risk diabetic patients in order to prevent toe, foot or leg amputations. Staffed by the Acute Care Team of Podiatrists, our dedicated diabetic foot specialists received their specialised training & hospital experience in treating an array of diabetic complications from low-risk wound treatment to high-risk limb salvage.

Why is Diabetic Foot Care Crucial?

85% of lower limb amputations are caused by diabetic foot ulcers which may start as a small wound on the foot. Diabetic foot complications may begin from a small wound on the foot which leads to multiple amputations very quickly. Studies show that up to 74% of diabetic patients get subsequent amputations within the first 5 years of their first amputation.
